“Celebrating the Divine Feminine in All!” May 13, 2012
In 1907, Anna Jarvis began her campaign to establish Mother’s Day as an official day of recognition of the women who gave birth to us. Since 1914, the second Sunday in May has been celebrated as Mother’s Day. For many of us that recognition has expanded to include the other women who have been a main source of nurturing of us mentally, emotionally and spiritually. For us who have chosen to walk the spiritual path, we actually are celebrating the feminine principle in whatever form it appears in our life. Having abandoned the patriarchal concept of God as a totally male being, we now embrace the idea of that Infinite Spirit as comprising both the male and female properties. So, today as we celebrate the human expressions of the Divine Feminine in our lives, let us take time to appreciate that principle in all of the people in our lives. It is in the balance of the male and female in each of us that we find the guidance and wisdom to create the vision we hold of a world of peace and harmony and abundance for all.
