CSLOC Live Band
The Center for Spiritual Living – Orange County is blessed with the music that is played every Sunday. Read below to tearn about the band members.
Rev. Kirk Moore (Director & Piano) – Kirk has studied piano and music since the age of four and was quite involved with musical theatre during high school and college. In 1972, he created his own band, Moore & More that performed in clubs throughout the Los Angeles area.
Kirk, with his in-depth and experienced musical background, became the musical director and an integral part of the church and its continued growth. The Center now has a band, on-staff singer, various musical guests and a dynamic choir. Kirk continues to grow the music program as the church grows and flourishes. Kirk also teaches classes and is very involved in special programs at the Center.
Gretchen Almond (Vocals) – Gretchen was born in Seattle, WA, where she lived with her talented mother and two gifted sisters. Moving to Southern CA at 10, she was already singing, acting and dancing. In Laguna Beach she began a professional musical theatre and Shakespeare career at LBHS and Laguna Moulton Playhouse. She earned her Equity Card in LA at Dorothy Chandler with Center Theatre Group, & SCR starring in “Evita” and “JC Superstar” and a long list of the most popular musicals. She has toured in Broadway shows, Shakespeare, and starred in Las Vegas and Laughlin. In L.A. She opened for Joan Rivers in her own critically acclaimed night club act on Sunset Strip.
Grant Clarkson (Bass), has performed on bass in Southern California his whole life and has been blessed to be part of the csloc for the past two and a half years. Grant currently lives in San Diego and performs jazz and musical theatre as well as teaches privately for upright and electric bass. Sunday morning is always a special time for him to perform with this wonderful band and for this beautiful congregation.
Anthony (Tony) Barbarotta (Drums) – A native of New York, N.Y., Anthony moved to California after being accepted to Long Beach State University, where he went on to receive his Bachelor of Music degree.
The California lifestyle must have agreed with him… he quickly became a resident! After graduating, Anthony began leading the busy life of a professional freelance musician living in Los Angeles. He feels blessed to be able to make a living doing what he loves to do, and thanks his family and friends (on both coasts!) for all of their love and encouragement.
