About InSpirit

Welcome to the InSpirit Center for Spiritual Living Orange County – our spiritual home. Our Center is a place that empowers people to reconnect with their spiritual nature and discover their unique and inherent talents so they may find their own fulfillment. We do this by teaching practical tools for living. These tools grow out of the Universal Principles that life is good, that there is only one God common to all people. And, we celebrate that Love is Power. We know that as we awaken to our true Spiritual Nature, the world transforms.

InSpirit is part of United Centers for Spiritual Living to provide the spiritual tools to transform our personal lives and make the world a better place. To learn more about about UCSL or find a center near you, please click here.

“The Science of Mind is the study of Life and the nature of the laws of thought; the conception that we live in a spiritual Universe; that God is in, through, around and for us.”

- Dr. Ernest Holmes

InSpirit History

Rev. Sandy Moore co-founded the InSpirit Center for Spiritual Living – Orange County in May of 1999 with her husband, Rev. Kirk, who is the Center’s Co-Minister and Music Director.

Sandy Moore’s faith has long been rooted in new thought/ancient wisdom philosophy. That foundation helped her not only survive but triumph over an excruciating pain — the loss of a child. Her journey to the ministry began in 1992 after the tragic, sudden death of her teenage daughter, Tara, in a car accident.

Following Tara’s death, the Moores uncovered a fascination that Tara had for angels. Grief-stricken and searching for answers, the couple opened an angel store called Tara’s Angels, in San Juan Capistrano, as a way of honoring their beloved child. The specialty shop and the Moore’s story were widely covered by both local and national media, including a cover story in People Magazine and an in-depth piece on the TV news magazine, Dateline.

Tara’s Angels soon attracted people from all over the world. Many people came to share their own grief and talk about the loss of a loved one. There were so many people that Sandy started facilitating a regular support group at the store. With encouragement from her husband and members of the support group, Sandy completed her ministerial training and the Moores founded The Center for Universal Truth in Mission Viejo on Mother’s Day in May 1999.

In January 2002, the Center relocated to a larger church home in San Juan Capistrano to accommodate its rapidly growing membership. The Moores also made the decision to close Tara’s Angels so they could focus more on their growing church ministry. In May 2009, the Center, now named the InSpirit Center for Spiritual Living—Orange County, moved to a beautiful new home in Mission Viejo.

Prior to becoming a minister, Rev. Sandy was an elementary school teacher for 20 years. Part of her vision for the church is to establish a private school for children, which embodies the philosophies of new thought, building self esteem and reaffirming that there is unlimited good in the Universe.
